The financial planning process

During the first visit, there is no obligation and the 'meter' is not running.  What this means is that during the first meeting it is important to learn more about each other and see if the relationship will have a good fit.  Both advisor and client have to have a comfort level of commonality and understanding if things are to work over the long term.  

If we both decide we have a good fit, then we will begin the financial planning process and develop a personalized financial plan to give you greater peace of mind.

Five steps to financial planning:

1. Gather information
   • What have you done to date, where do you want to go and what challenges do you see going forward?
   • Discuss goals and objectives
   • Best and worst decision you have made with money
   • Other experiences with advisors, good or bad
2. Analyze information gathered
   • Review current investments, insurance, debt situation, will
3. Develop financial plan
   • Put together easy to follow recommendations
4. Implement the plan
   • Complete financial documentation
5. Setup schedule to monitor and review plan on an ongoing basis
